Conclusion of the Introduction
A problem emerges. The old theory doesn’t work. Things are falling apart.
The awakened mind goes to work. The attentive eye responds.
The process of making observations, collecting data, forming concepts and constructing theories (Ob-Dat-Con-Theo) is reviewed and begun again. Mixing the new and the old observations, new data sets are collected, new concepts are shaped, leading to new theories being constructed.
In the process, the map of knowledge extends outward into larger scales of space and time, and inward into smaller scales of space and time.
What we thought we already knew is recast to include new insights and to discard old misconceptions. And we are closer to authentic knowledge of the world as it actually exists.
